As usual, we started off with reading the Along the Alphabet Path story and oral narration. I use a plain notebook that I keep all their oral narrations in. After reading the Alphabet Path story, we listened to the Alphabet Fairy music while the kids painted their Double Daisy picture. You can get the Flower Fairies Alphabet coloring book on Amazon or you may have some luck googling it. I highly recommend printing on cardstock if you plan on painting them. We also learned a couple facts using my flower facts card about the daisy flowers.

The saint featured this week is Saint Dominic! We said a prayer to Saint Dominic and kept his prayer card out so we could see it throughout the week. We used this coloring page for the week. The kids liked how this coloring page had a dog in it. I also remembered for the girls to do their copywork from the Alphabet Book of Catholic Saints… woo-hoo

Both the Alphabet Saint Prayer cards and Flower Fact cards are available to download for free.

We are HUGE fans of Tomie DePaola! How could you not pick him for letter D! For those interested in doing an author study can read a biography of Tomie DePaola on his website HERE. Also Youtube videos of him reading aloud some of his books!

Genevieve and Kateri decided to draw a scene from Tomie dePaola’s book Angels, Angels Everywhere.

Doing our Alphabet Path studies is now feeling routine. I’m so glad I finally remembered to add their copywork assignment. I honestly can’t believe I forgot! Next week… Letter E.

P.S. in case you didn’t notice, we painted our dining room walls! No more ugly wallpaper and green paint.
