Lent Board

February 14, 2018

It’s Ash Wednesday! Are ready, I hope I am. Last week I talked about Lent Activities for Families, today I am sharing with you this year’s Lent board.

lent board

I came up with the idea of making a Lent board last year when I was trying to find a way to display our Lenten prayers, sacrifices, and other visuals for the kids but with the lack of wall space, it was hard to do. I then came up with the idea of displaying everything on a tri-fold board. It also allowed me to easily put it up without worrying it getting messed up. You can read about last year’s Lent Board here. I loved how it came out so much that I made another one this year. Here is how I made mine this year:

Supplies used:

  • tri-fold display board (I bought mine at the dollar store)
  • laminator
  • double-sided tape
  • purple washi tape (optional for a decorative touch)

displaying the stations of the cross

On the left side, I have the stations of the cross on the bottom and above that is a picture of a cute little illustrated Mother Teresa and her quote

“Lord, help us to see in your Crucifixion and Ressurection an example of how to endure and seemingly die in the agony and conflict of daily life, so that we may live more fully and creatively.”

2018 lenten calendar

A Lenten Calendar, that I made, specific to this year’s dates and a page for listing sacrifices and another for our list of alms are in the middle section of the board. The sacrifices and almsgiving pages were laminated so that I can use a dry erase marker.

prayers for lent

On the righthand side of the board is a list of prayers for Lent and below that is images of the Sorrowful mysteries of the rosary.

Printables used on my board:

  • Saint Mother Teresa quote is available in the Subscribers Hollow
  • Stations of the Cross is from The Kids’ Bulletin
  • 2018 Lenten Calendar is available in the Subscribers Hollow
